Christmas cocktail

British Winter Tipple

Somerset cider brandy and sloe gin shaken with fresh citrus homemade mulled wine syrup infused with elderberries and damson, seasoned with genepie and Christmas spices
Served straight up

How to make it

Glass
Champagne coupe or a medium-sized wine glass

Method
Add all ingredients in to the shaker with plenty of cubed ice, shake for 15-20 seconds and strain in to the glass
Use orange zest to
add garnish

Ingredients
30ml Somerset 3yr old cider brandy
20ml sloe gin
10ml Golden Genepie liqueur from Dolin
25ml fresh lemon juice
15-20ml mulled wine syrup

To make mulled wine syrup simply
add 1 part demerara sugar,
a touch of honey and 3 parts classically spiced mulled wine.
Add a couple of dried elderberries and damsons plums or similar
Let it simmer for 10-15 min until it becomes a medium thick syrup.
Add more honey to taste if need be but avoid making it too sweet
