1946 Themed Jazz club

David Gilmour of Pink Floyd’s 70th Birthday

A Star Filled soirée in West London
250 Glamorous guests
A 1940 Themed Jazz Club with a luxurious bar

In March 2016 we were asked by Mr Gilmour and the team at Plain Jane Events to put together a drinks offering fit to celebrate the Pink Floyd Rock legend’s 70th Birthday, hosted at West London’s grand Porchester Hall, transformed in to a dark, smoky and cosy Jazz Club.
We created a vast selection of drinks inspired by the 1940’s vibrant cocktail era for the guests to sip on while enjoying the magnificent performance by none other than Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, followed by Jarvis Cocker on the decks.

The main bar served up a selection of 1940’s cocktails with a seasonal twist, all shortlisted by Mr Gilmour after a personal tasting session.

Nyteimber Classic Cuvee

This delightful English Sparkling Wine from West Sussex, produced in the traditional Champagne method from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes was served up in Art Deco style Champagne coupes

The “Sloe” Daisy
Sloe gin and pressed citrus, served long over ice, charged with soda, sweetened with fine red and blackcurrant liqueur, seasoned with wild nettles and Yellow Chartreuse

Death in the Afternoon
Hemingway’s classic made with fine Absinthe, pressed lemon and a hint of sugar, shaken ice cold and charged with Blanc de Blanc Champagne

cinnamon tincture.

Wapping Winter Punch

Espresso Martini’s

Before the cake was served we prepared fresh Espresso Martini’s served on trays to all the guests. A perfect after dinner “pick me up” before retiring to the Lounge Bar to sip on a hand made Gibsson or an Old-Fashioned.

Speak easy bar

Later on in the evening we opened up a 1946 style “speak easy bar” and lounge area, inspired by famous imbibe institutions such as the Savoy Hotel, The Connaught, Claridges and The Waldorf Astoria. Crafting a vast range of classic cocktails made to order using only the finest boutique products
